Visit from Spanish students

We recently had a visit from 23 students and their teachers from Pamplona, in northern Spain. They spent time in the Spanish classes and also in English, Cookery and Construction classes. See below for the wonderful words of one of the teachers who accompanies the students:

"I would just like to thank you for the very warm welcome we received from absolutely everybody we came into contact with at Childwall Sports & Science Academy. Students and staff were extremely helpful and generous in their time to show us around your great school.

I have visited several schools in Britain over the years, both with and without accompanying students, and I can safely say that yours is without doubt the most welcoming. After 30 years in Spain, I have no intention of moving back to Liverpool, but being there just for a few days did actually make be feel proud to be a Scouser again. The fine relationship between your members of staff, and between staff and pupils, is not something so instantly apparent in other schools.

Please pass on my thanks to all those teachers who made us feel welcome, especially Miss Hafford and Miss Gray in the Spanish department, whose classroom displays put myself and my colleagues to shame, Miss Colgan with her cookery class, Mr Fitzpatrick and Mr Donnelly in construction and Mr Patterson for the students who needed help with their English.

Our school has students from diverse backgrounds and the diversity we saw among your students goes way beyond that and was a real eye-opener for us. Despite just spending a couple of hours together for 4 days, they seemed to get on well together and I'm sure many of them will keep in touch.
